"CC" Morgans BU to fine. What would I expect to pay?

887 Carson City Silver Dollars are being offered for sale with thirty day return privileges. Since I only sell Morgan copies (this board's favorite thing) and collect only Eagles, I need some advice. I do not get to select the dates, however, the more you buy, up to 20, the more dates will be included, up to six.

If this is anything like one of those ads in the newspaper, I would be very leery. With the variability of values in the CC Morgans, there is no way that you will get correctly graded coins of 6 different dates, for the same money per coin. The 30 day return may be legitimate and it may be a hoax. JMHO.

This sounds like an ad that was out there a couple years ago for "BU to fine" Morgan Dollars. They were trying to get about $30 apiece for coins that averaged in value at about $10 -- be careful.

Fine to AU common date CC dollars are worth about $70-$85
BU (MS-60) CC dollars bid at $125 -- although it's unlikely there will be many to be found in the whole pile.

Also consider, if these are sight unseen, and you don't even get to pick the dates, what quality coins are you likely to receive? Are they going to be cleaned or damaged?

Even with a 30 day return priviledge, with the cost of shipping & insurance, is it worth the risk? Would you be getting a good enough deal to offset the chance that you'd be receiving a pile of crappy coins?

While CC dollars had really been jumping up in price, they seemed to have leveled off lately, so unless you can get them at about $70 apiece or less, I don't think I'd mess with it.
