well anyway this guy outbids me on these confederate notes repos the other week so I sent a message to him asking if he know they were not real but congrads anyway. he replied back telling me he was a conterfet collector and they are worth more the real confederrate notes. anyone collect conterfet coins here?

Actually no. "Congrads" should be spelled "Congrats" as the word is "Congratulations". Next "Conterfet" should be spelled "Counterfeit". And lastly "conferrate" should be capitalize and spelled "Conferate". Well you did ask...

Anyway, I've not heard of any counterfeit Conferate notes being more valuable than the originals.

While I don't know about Confederate currency, there are certain kinds of counterfeit British halfpennies (such as the ones struck by Machin's Mills in New York) that are worth considerably more than the original, regal issues struck in England. That's just one example of a counterfeit being worth more than an "original". I'm sure there are many others.

That is interesting that the market for them is significant. Confederate notes were widely counterfeited in the North.

Think I read somewhere that Northern copies of Confederate money were "too good" in some ways (?)

(i.e., made in a little more sophisticated manner than the real McCoy.)
