Anyone ever done this?
I receive an NGC submission back today, and am going through the box of slabs (no bodybags hurray!), and come across a $30 coin, Mercury dime. I'm sitting there with this puzzled look on my face for, what felt like, an eternity. Now I'm curious. Why did I send this coin in? Did I think it had FB? It obviously didn't, well, not obviously, but if you look at the bands...... Was I hoping for a better grade? I don't think so. It looks graded accurately (ms/61).
The only thing I can figure is that this coin was on my desk for whatever reason when I was putting the original submission together, and I just grabbed the coin, put it in the proper flips, and entered it on the submission form, never double checking the coin.
All I can say is that it's a good thing I spent a submission fee on this 1920 ms/61 Merc.
Misery loves company. Anyone else with a similar blunder?
