number of slabs to get "cool" blue PCGS box

how many slabs do you need to get a cool blue PCGS box?

a year ago - I sent in my first 4 collector club coins and I got the package back in an envelope (3 were bodybags).

I just got back a nice box full of slabs (lower grades than I wanted - but 37 days)

will my current 4 slabs-to-be be in a box - assuming there are no bodybags????

what is the least amount of slabs and still get a blue box?

Nope....not enough. You get the brown cardboard envelope. Mine came yesterday. By the way, door to door on the submission was less than 30 days. Darn good I thought.

Generally, it is six or more coins, although once I got a box with a five coin submission.

I got spoiled at PCGS with the blue boxes.

The fist time I went across the street with 40 coins my jaw dropped! I was expecting a couple of those nice NGC boxes and all I got was a lousy cardboard box.image

If you sent in ten coins and they all got bodybagged do you think you would get one?--------------BigE

6 slabbed coins will get you a blue box, but it takes 20 to get a cool one.

I sent in a nice NGC gold coin that did not cross - came back NGC as submitted, with a fancy new blue box! Looks like one is the minimum (or they were trying to ease my pain.

I've received a box with a 4 coin submission before.

    I got one when I submitted 6. With 4, I got cardboard.

I sent 8 coins. Two got bodybagged.
Paid for eight coins so they gave me a "blue box".

I know both PCGS and NGC have had a couple different types of boxes. I am looking to acquire the different types of boxes to go along with the slab reference set. (Basicly I've been expanding to include any memorabilia related to slabbing). Anyone have pictures of the different box types and/or examples they want to sell? Any and all services. I have pictures of the first carboard and plastic PCGS box but I don't own one yet, and I have an PCI box from shortly after they bought out HALLMARK (It's a HALLMARK box that PCI placed their own label on, the old HALLMARK label still shows through.) I also have a picture of the Paramount Redfield box (7 coin size, still need 33 coin size.)

Does anyone have anything I'm looking for?

Hmmm. What does the "cool" one look like? Guess I never really noticed more than one kind, or I just haven't been fortunate enought to see the "cool" one.

Both pcgs and ngc give their boxes away free just for the asking at Long Beach shows, you don't have to submit anything.

Every submission I have made has resulted in a Blue Box ( anything from 2 coins to 10 ) and I am beginning to run out of space to store them.

But flying across the country to ask is very expensive.

I'd rather have the NGC boxes - they hold both NGC and PCGS slabs better. The lid will stay on.
