Two year anniv. and proof Washington upgrade

This month marks two years since Alan Mendelson (MoneyLA) brought me to these boards and convinced me to register my proof Washingtons. At the time, Alan's set was the #1 Current & All-Time Finest and mine came in at #2 current. After 2 years and many additions and upgrades, I am proud to say that my set is now tied with Alan's @ #4 All-Time. Thanks again, Alan, for your guidance and inspiration.

    Congrats Don.
I hope that you get as much joy/thrill/excitement as I do when you
add an upgrade to your registry set.
    I am strictly a collector, not a dealer/seller/collector.
I collect for the joy and excitement, not to make money.
I will always be looking over my shoulder as you make additional upgrades.
I can only hope to keep pace.image

  • Yikes, time flies. You've been a friend and I wish you the best. thank you for the kind words and for listing me in your pedigrees. By the way, I was going through my library the other night and came across that soft-cover PCGS Registry book that they printed a few years ago. In that edition was the listing for the proof washingtons with my name for #1 sets current and all time finest. While the collection has been sold, the memories and pride remains. cheers, alan mendelson

    Don,
I really like the 17FH, so don't take this the wrong way...that coin would be STUPID looking if NCS "curated" it to make it glowing white...??? Comments?image

  • Congrats Don. Your proof set looks pretty spectacular. Plus, that FH looks amazing. Is that a 66?

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
  • Thanks, Everyone, for all your nice comments.

Danny, You will always have to look over your shoulder to see my set. A "pace-setter" need not worry 'bout keepin' pace! image

Craig (Manofcoins), You failed to mention all the help you've given me to get into the top ten. And my latest snipe was none other than one of your's! image
With all the help my set has recieved from your dupes and upgrades, your set is bound to be one of the top all-time finest when completed.

The '17-S is a PCGS MS66FH and yes, rr, it would be STUPID looking if NCS "curated" it to make it glowing white. It would be missing all the gorgeous light blue/lavender toning that makes it "unique" compared to all the boring white ones out there. (the darkness in the legs area isn't that dark.) image
