question about profile setup

I was wondering about a couple of things. First, I see alot of people have links and pictures in their messages, and I was wondering how you go about doing that? I also was wondering if there is some way of inserting a picture into your little logo that shows on the upper left part of a message? I'm not very computer literate, so any help would be helpful. Thanks.

for pics in messages, they are all pics from the internet. if you want to use a pic online, right click on it and go to "properties", then copy paste the address (URL) option, and insert it as a picture (using the goofy colored mountain (or whatever it is) button right by the underline button)

I'd also like to know how to insert a picture in the profile other than the cheesy preset ones they let you pick from. most people seem to have pics of their own they've inserted, yet i can't figure it out for the life of me.

They used to let you upload your own images for the pic above
your name, but I think they stopped allowing that awhile ago.
I could be wrong, though. There are a crapload to choose from,
so you might be able to find something cool...
Maybe it's on the help page.

you can upload your own logo picture 1 day a month, usually the 15th. if you go to where you chose your image on the 15th there will be an upload button. I think it has to be 100K or less, but could be wrong.
Obviously I haven't gotten there on the right day yet!

Search the boards for "author icon." You'll see a thread in the Open Forum. Post a reply to that thread asking the Administrator to open up that functionality for you on your Profile page. I just did it to upload my LSU helmet on the left.
