watch those pops!

I just received a card in the mail that had been advertised PSA 9 1/1. Before bidding, I checked the pop report and verified that there was only one 9. Then I put a very high snipe on it. I didn't bother to check my collection to see if I already had the card. If only one exists, I must not have it yet, right?
So I won the card. Today, though, when I went to add the card to my registry, I found that I already had a 9. So I checked the pop report again. Now there are two 9's listed.
Evidently it takes some time for a freshly-graded card to make it into the pop report. I'll check my collection first next time.

#1 Pete Maravich Master Set AGAIN!
The Ultimate Pete Maravich Card Collection
YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CORNERED THE MARKET ON THIS ONE.
It was an odd sort of disappointment to find that I already had the card. The money was one thing, but I was also looking forward to bumping up my GPA a 1/100 of a point. (My inner voice is saying: get a life, Mike.)
Does anyone know how long it takes for the report to get updated? Next time I get a submission back, I don't want to advertise the cards as 1/x if they're 1/(x+1).

I still think the pop report should be real time.

Edited to add my two cents again (Or is that four cents)
When you go to your profile, click the view all button for logos and look for this filename, lsuhelmet-s.jpg

Thanks for the quick reply. Now I know when I should check the POP report for updates.
Maybe someone from PSA should post a disclaimer on the POP report home page stating the update day (MONDAY). This way everyone has been informed.

Does PFN have ANY talent?

once they get the grades and before they get the cards back, have an entry person start writing the listings. (you have to remember they are getting 1000's of cards back at once so they need to be ahead of the game) this includes inputting the grades and they probably have a policy of adding the pops on any psa 9 or 10 card that is less than say 5 pop.
the writing of the listing includes adding the link to the picture, probably based on the cert #
they then organize what will be listed and when and schedule the listings
therefore all of their listing is done before the cards even arrive.
once the cards arrive, they proabably have another person scanning and uploading the pictures to the proper links , most likely based on the cert #
any thoughts to this process? I think you have to look at in terms of getting 1000's of graded cards at once and how you would do it. if this is the process then real time is the only way pops will be accurate from a large dealer.
I don't know what DSL's process is, but the one you described is certainly efficient. We need you to work on PSA's report-updating process!
Another solution would be to delay posting the grades and shipping the cards until the pop report is updated. It's certainly undesirable to hold up shipping, but updating the pop report is important as well.
People pay a huge premium for low-pop cards, and we rely on PSA's report for the pop counts. Not only that, we *pay* for the privilege of looking at the pop report. Perhaps real-time updating isn't possible, but judging by what's written above, the infrequent updates are affecting a lot of customers. The problem deserves some attention.
