At first glance, I thought this was something from the Gallery Mint or Royal Oak Mint, but then I didn't see the word "COPY" anywhere. Isn't the word "copy" suppose to be on a copy or is that a recent law? Is this coin real???

Looks real enough to me just "doctored".

It's not a Gallery Mint piece, they haven't made an 04 half cent. It might be Royal Oak bt the workmanship looks better than what they usually produce.

After comparison with a nice Cohen-13 (Plain 4 stemless wreath), I have to agree that it is genuine but probably doctored.

Doctored coin. It's been sand blasted, or whatever term someone wants to apply to it to make it sound nicer...that's essentially what it is.

Still, it is pretty neat to imagine that it COULD be real, at least 199 years ago it could have been. What do half cents with that much red cost anyway?

Tom and others, please do not get your hopes up.

Draped Bust half cents do not look like that naturally, after nearly 200 years. Hopes, dreams and prayers are what sellers of items like that, capitalize on.
