A lot of dealers are saying that coins which have sat in the back room
for decades have been flying out the door recently and in many cases
there is little left of the entry level and inexpensive coins.

Do you see the same thing in your neck of the woods?

A few people have even said some dealers cases look a little thin.

Are we about to see common indian cents and buffalos go to 2 or $3?

Not really, looks about the same here as it was before. I think we may be seeing the crest of the wave, though.

I don't get to many shows (and none of the shops) but it would be interesting to hear what other people are seeing.

I suspect a good indicator of whether this is a widespread thing would be to see if the wholesaler buying prices go up. It might be reflected in the buying prices in the CW classifieds.

There have been some very aggresive buy prices on G indians ($1.50), buffalos,
and even "common" late date silver. There are so many millions of most of this
stuff around it's difficult imagining it going much higher but some of it has already
quadrupled in the last decade.

It's the same story with most dealers I've talked to; they used to have a back
room with lots of unmovable junk in it and now it's about all gone.

Dealer cases, both store and bourse, in my area have been soft for quite awhile. They don't pay well and as a result don't seem to get much offered to them.

Not here same ol thing, but I have herd several dealers that are shipping large quantities of Common buff's, Indians, Mer dimes etc to large bulk buyers that sell thru magazine adds, mail order, and tv and Newspaper adds. And paying stronger buy prices to get them.

I have been seeing this in my ebay sales, i have been selling bicentennial quarters, kennedys, and ikes, and am making about 8 X face on the quarters, 5 X face on the kennedys, and 4 X face on the ikes. They are all circulated, and i state that in my auctions, and everybody has liked them. I hope it continues this way!

No in my area (Washington DC-VA-MD metro area) all our coin shops still have TONS of stuff. But it seems like everything I want they never have (Slabbed coins, and really good looking raw coins). I think people go around and cherry pick the coin shops and leave them with, well, not crap but not very slab worthy condition coins.
