Collectors Universe Stock (CLCT) up 22% Today

No doubt as a result of the announcing of the Set Registry Awards today, the stock reached a new year high at $4.86, rising 22% today.

Collectors Universe Stock report

It may have also had something to do with the company announcing earnings of .07 per share yesterday, for the first profitable quarter in a while. Congrats to CU.

  • Wonder if this'll be posted on the SGC message board. Would be interesting to see if it's as "fair and balanced" as those across the street like to claim.

Congratulations to Collectors Universe on a profitable quarter. It will be interesting to see the trends in submissions. Anybody seen the 10Q yet? Hopefully this will allow the company to begin investing more back into the business.
  • Judging from the activity level of their chat board, I would guess that they will have little to say.

It appears to me that SGC will soon be fighting it out with GAI for the #2 grading company.

Judging from dealer offerings & ebay, GAI is nipping at SGC's heels. And I got to think that that slice of the pie that those two companies fight for is very small compared to PSA's market share. I am sure between the 3 grading firms, PSA contols at least 90% of the cards that are submitted to them.

    Well done CU!!
