These were issued as a Quincentennial (500 year) discovery of America.

    These are the two with the ship motif. It is a 4 coin set issued with the authority of Sociedad Estatal del Quinto Centenario in Madrid Spain. In 1992 . Great wooden box with a sliding top and the 4 coins "imbedded" in there.


    I was able to get these via a great forum member Pam. Even in the trouble time she and Bert were having she bought these on my behalf (seller only shipped to USA) ...... lovely lady.

    Fantastic coins, Wayne!!
    Please place them on your site!! And Australian's also!

    As for Spanish coins, that set even doesn't mention in Krause! So your site will be the only place to see them. These coins remind me Portuguese Ship series coins (they have about 40 such coins!!). Do you have some of these, Wayne? I have got almost all by series of swaps with a few collectors from Portugal.
