I know low pop 8's & 9's get a high price, but a 7?

1955 Bowman Neal PSA-7
I know he's a Brooklyn Dodger from their championship season, but this is still a PSA-7. What would a PSA-8 bring? ...jay

jay - in the context of '55 Topps, that is a very low pop. in 7 and 8, especially for a Dodger.

OK, it's Bowman. I need to read more carefully. Even for a Dodger, that's an awfully high price for a 7 from that set (although it's a very nice 7).

Maybe Marc can give some insight into this one.

I wish I had some insight -- I do not. Seems to be an irrational bidding war in this case. I purchased my PSA 8 for a (relatively high) $175 in March 2001. I cannot say as I've seen recorded sales that high in the time since. I can definitively say that the Dodger and Yankee PSA 8 cards from 1955 Bowman are largely collected and do not come to market often. They always pull premiums well in excess of SMR.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
