Now this is a true Mint 9 Jim Brown Rookie!

Check out item #2766036920 by ebay seller vintage-sports-cards

It is a 1958 Topps Jim Brown rookie graded a Mint 9. Man, this baby is sharp....it could cross over to a PSA 10 I think. Someone could have a great registry card for 1958 Topps Football.

I don't know how to do a link yet so maybe someone else will do us the favor for easy viewing. I am sure many of you would like to feast your eyes on this vintage gem. It must be 'one of a kind'.

    Linked

If they're calling that card "Mint", I think "Hall Of Shame Grading" would be more accurate.

Let's all e-mail this seller and tell him if this crosses over to a PSA 9 we'll buy it. Otherwise, no sale and he is out of a transaction image

At least they didn't trim it to improve centering. What is sad is how many other vintage cards he is selling with mini borders, including the '33 Goudey Ruth. image

As I've said on these boards many times. These off-chute grading companies w/ lax grading standards help to destroy the hobby. If someone bid real Mint -9 #'s on this they would be fleeced, and probably would leave the hobby. The idea of a grading company is to protect the consumer by preserving the card and accurately grading it while seeing if it is original and unaltered. Its a shame that anybody can call themselves graders and open a business in their basement. With over 4 dozen grading companies documented, it is a sad state of affairs. Out of the 50 or so grading companies, there are just a handful that grades a card unbiased and truthful, and its real sad that the other companies have to compete by giving generous grades or looking the other way when a doctored card or a reprint is asked to be encased...jay

IMHO, I think this guy is innocent. He apparently does not know the difference between grading companies. He is willing to give money back guaranteed if you are not pleased with the transaction. He may not be up to date with what companies are most desirable, but at least he is up to date with customer service.

I disagree. He's smart enough to spam the title with a free PSA card. He states: "Anything we sell is 100% original and authentic or your money back." Well this card is authentic and original, but anyone can see it's far from mint. I think you're being much too easy on this guy.

    Check it out now.....

The seller has withdrawn the auction. He listed it today on a 10 day auction and now it is ended as an error in the listing.

    One of two things happened...

    1) He heard of this thread, or
    2) He got an offer off-line that he couldn't refuse........like $12?? image
