question regarding modern fb

I've recently started an all time rushers set. my question is regarding the new guys. I was hoping someone would know what the sp rookies of jerome bettis, marshall faulk, and curtis martin in gem 10 are going for. From my experience of SMR...it's pretty much a joke, and the only thing i've ever vested any time in is vintage so i'm clueless on this new stuff....basically a formula for disaster on ebay. hope someone can help. thanks

Not sure about the SP Martin, there are only 2, and the Leader "Uncle Joe" has one in his set.I think he got it in an off-ebay purchase. He is AlanAllen here on the boards, he may be able to provide you some insight. The Faulk 10's are fairly plentiful..Ive seen a couple go in the low $200's on ebay...Dont remember ever seeing a Bettis 10, and there are only 2 in existence. My guess would be $400-500 if one ever pops up...The 9's are easy to come by. A Martin and a Faulk 9 will run you $20-30 each, Bettis usually goes for $50-75...

  • thanks jasP. i didn't realize there weren't a million of these cards graded 10. i guess this may be an interesting quest for completion.

I did buy one of the Martin 10's off eBay, but I'm too embarrased to say what I paid image. Jason is correct that Faulk 10's usually go in the low $200's. I've never seen either of the Bettis 10's go on sale, but Jason's estimate is probably pretty good (I would have called it low last year when he was a healthy starter). Eddie George 10's go for about the same as Faulk, but trade less often due to the lower POP (I believe there is one on eBay now, though).

No such details will spoil my plans...
  • I snagged a Faulk 10 this weekend for $225. They come in spurts, so keep an eye out for them. E. George was recently added to the set, so there should be some initial demand for his card. That should subside as pop's rise. The C. Martin RC is the tough one to find in 10. 9's aren't that easy either. White spots on the black border, weak corners and foil chipping seem to be standard for this card. The 90 Score Supp. E. Smith is the easiest to find in 10. Good luck and I look foward to seeing your progress on the Registry.
