Not sure who to agree with on this one. If I were wanting to bid, I would have to take into consideration that PCGS said no to it. The colors just look too vivid to me and PCI is known to be a bit more lenient at times. This is why I do not bid on toned coins.
I have to with PCGS on this one. What's goofy is that the same toning on a morgan dollar is acceptable by PCGS- I think this is because the monster toning on morgans is "market acceptable". Why not call all AT coins and even questionable AT coins AT and be done with this controversy? mike
I've found it very difficult to ascertain AT from photos, but that one looks a little too flourescent to me. Also, the uniformity of the toning makes me go hmmmm....
I agree. Tough call. I've read here that PCGS has been really rough on these vivid rainbow Jeffs. Even coins still in cellophane get bagged. Main things to consider are how much you can trust the seller, and how much a future buyer will trust you. You can't trust the PCI slab. Actually they clearly state "100% Toned" which appears to be true. I say put it with the rest of the cooked up set and have someone with some "pull" submit it.
