86 Fleer BKB print registration question

I owned about 300 or so 86 Fleer basketball cards when they first came out. Unfortuantely, since they weren't worth as much as the all those great 85-87 Donruss Topps Fleer baseball cards, I didn't store these cards too well, and they ended up grading as 7s or 8s 12 years later.

One thing that I noticed about those cards is the Fleer logo and the black border going around the photo were almost always printed completely solid and were crystal clear even when viewed under 10x magnification. I would say about 10% of the cards were not like this, and had bad registartion, where the black border was not solid, and the Fleer logo would be a little off register, making the PREMIER look a little smudged, and putting yellow in the white FLEER letters.

I decided to upgrade many of these cards to PSA 9, buying from shows and ebay. I noticed that while these 9s typically had great corners and decent centering, they mostly also had bad registration, again resulting in non-solid black borders, and off register Fleer logos.

So my questions are; is it more common to find cards with perfect registration, or slightly off register? I know my cards are just a very small representation of what's out there. Also, are these off register cards with razor sharp corners 9s instead of 10s because they are off register? Is it possible to find 9s with perfect registration, or would those cards be housed in 10 holders?

TIA
