    Its natural to me.

That's natural toning in my book - you haven't added anything to the coin and it has turned naturally on it's own.

    << <i>I did add light >>

God said, "Let there be light".

    You added the coin.

I think that would be Natural Toning. If I left a SE in the window for three minutes, my cats would have it on the floor knocking it back and forth. Then the dogs would get it, carry it off, chew and lick it.
In three years it would probably be AG - no toning. image

You are doing well, subject 15837. You are a good person.

there is no discrete line, one side natural, the other side artificial.

you helped the coin get color, but you didn't paint or bake it on in one day.

I'd say it's more natural than artificial, and you're just a little bit of a doc.

hmmm , Is promoting toning comsidered doctoring?

    Some say so.

Could be viewed as mis-handleing or improper storage?
But what about display coins. Those raw coins can tone with little or no effort.
Are those AT`d ? Again, some say so.

Everyone has different opinions on color and what they like or dislike. There seems to be a market for
just about any coin with color so its not surprising to see many toning attempts. Some good some not.

Personally my idea of what good color on a coin can change sometimes depending on my mood.
So tone your pieces and be happy, just dont expect someone like me to pay big premiums
for something I could create myself.

well to me its still a $6.00 SE that set in the window 3 year but I'ld be crazy if someone offered big bucks for it and I didn't sell it. Color on a SE is so common I don't see that happening.

And God said "Let there be light."

And the XO said, "Belay that. Darken ship!."

Had to get that out! Natural toning, of course...
