Does anyone know how PSA grades cards such as 1964 Topps Baseball (another example would be 1961 Topps Football) that has a picture on the back that was revealed by rubbing the card? Does the fact that the picture is or is not revealed affect the grade? In answering the question, please assume that the card was not damaged in rubbing the card to reveal the picture.
Thanks,
John

Mainly collecting 1956-1980 Topps Football, 1960-1963 Fleer Football, 1964-1967 Philadelphia Football, 1957-1980 Topps Hockey, 1968-1980 O-Pee-Chee Hockey, and 1976 Topps Basketball. Looking for PSA 9 NQ (or higher) in 1972-1980, and PSA 8 NQ or higher for pre-1972.

My guess is that if the cartoon could be exposed without causing surface damage to the rest of the card it might be possible to garner a 9. I would think rubbing a coin against the surface would generally cause scrapes and such....which would explain why a high grade would be so difficult to obtain.
