Conspirecy theory

In regards to Beckett.

Anyone notice that when a player is having a good season, Beckett will give that person down arrows nontheless? And when he starts sucking, the down arrows will go away?

Or how about when they drop prices on some certain cards, or raise prices on certain cards without giving them an arrow at all?

EXAMPLE: 98-99 Stadium Club Vince Carter rookie. (you know, the good one)

At one point it reached $450 bucks. Trust me, i traded an arm and a leg for it at that time. The very next beckett I thought it might reach $500 cause it was reported to be a very low print run, AND Carter was having a really good season at that point. Anyways, the very next Beckett, the card dropped to $250 WITHOUT A DOWN ARROW.

I don't know about you, but when i get a Beckett, the first thing i look for is who's going up. I don't only look at the main page of hot cards, but i also flip thru pages and look for up and down arrows. Now if i wasn't specificly looking for that certain carter card, i wouldnt have know it went down $200 in one month because it had no arrow.

Anyways, my theory is, the dealers who send Beckett prices on what they think cards should go for, intentionally make hot players cards lower so they can then buy the cards cheaper while they are hot. And then when they cool off, the reraise the prices without arrows.

I've seen it happen ALOT of times. And if you look hard enough, you'll see it happen too.

BTW, what's that Carter book for now? And how is he doing in the NBA?

Nah. After it went to $250, I waited for it to go back up. When it got up to $350, I sold it. It was the mail in redemption rc of his. #105. Curious, what's it at now?

I remember that, they lowered all of the TSC Red. Rcookies. Look at the top of the listing and it says "All Rookies have been lowered without arrows" It just saves from having to list 25 arrows.

People who know prices reasonably well can tell if they raise prices without arrows.
