goodacre autographed slab

i recently got back my goodacre sac from pcgs....it came back 68 (thanks mdwoods) but here is my question. it came in an autographed icg slab. i asked pcgs to please return the original slab to me after cracking it out, and they did a nice job of not mutilating the slab. does anyone have an interest in this autographed, but empty slab, for it's numismatically historical value? does it have any value?

  • Somthing like 10,000 were made by ICG, so her autograph isn't exactly rare.

  • no, i agree it's not rare, but she did not sign all of the presentation coin slabs....have anything interesting to trade? i still have the green insert from the slab as well.

I believe she only autographed a couple hundred of them.

Didn't ICG slab 2500 of them?

  • I thought that there were a total of 5000 of these Goodacre coins. They were issued as payment for her obverse design by the mint. All were originally slabbed and individually numbered by ICG but not graded.
At first only 2500 were released to the market place but later more from this hoard were sold. I have no idea how many Glenna signed but it can't be more than that. I think.

There are only 5000 Goodacre Sacs. Few if any of the first 2500 were autographed. Most out there are not. I'd keep the remains of the ICG slab and include it with the PCGS slabbed coin if you ever sell it. I have a Glenna Goodacre autographed Sac First Day Cover. She only signed 250 of those. mdwoods
