I was just checking the pops on the c.s. Washingtons and noticed that the first MS67 1962-D was made. This leaves only four of the regular issues that have none graded that high... the '32-D&S, '55-D and '61-D.
Man!, some of those "later" "D" mints!
Congrats to who ever!

The '34-D in 67 is way over my head. That's probably why I missed it. I feel lucky to have an MS65 in my set and wasn't aware of the pops of the higher grades. The '55-D, & '61-D are apparently also tough in MS67. Do you think that an MS67 '55-D or '61-D will ever be "made"?
Mitch:
Congrats on "making" the MS67 '54-D! That's at least two of the three you made!
I'm sure that you are "hard at it" in trying to do the same with a '55-D and '61-D!
As you stated, it's nice to see some tough coins being made even when members are citing how tight PCGS is lately.
FooDood:
Sorry 'bout that!

Bob Z - That 34-D is the best I have ever seen. I will bring it to Santa Clara for you to see if I change my mind and come up for the day on Thursday. I am leaning toward putting it away for the time being as I have always had a penchant for key date finest known coins.
BobZ: Hanging onto those rolls of the 1940's you sent me for dear life!!
Mitch, you astound me with your determination! I guess either would make for quite the score!
David: If I were ever lucky enough to make one, I'd come runnin' to you with it to trade it for an awesome Standin' Lib.!

edited for typo.
as always (and not George's)
I also noticed that the pop for MS66 '55-D's and '62-D's have gone down. Thanks to whom ever decided to turn in the tags. Looks like these "D" mints will continue to be tough!

If your son wins any lots, shipping is on me.
Since somebody did away with all of my b.i.n. prices, it will be interesting to see if any reach or exceed them!

I was looking at the Patrick J. Mullen Quarter Set and the pops show 1 MS67 '61-D (He has an MS66). Is that a recent change?
My quarters:
Silver
Clad
Statehood
Robert: Still pop 1/0 to this day. I had to outbid one of the top 19th century classic coin upgraders in the country to win that particular 1961(d) quarter at public auction that then slabbed out at the PCGS-MS67 level. From memory, I think that coin fetched between $1,000 - $2,000 at auction (before slabbing MS67) where a typical MS66 1961(d) traded at around $200 at the time. That particular classic coin upgrader later mentioned that he was only outbid at that particular level at auction as he had no idea what an MS67 would actually fetch at auction (I wouldn't have stopped bidder either though). It fetched around $12,000 at auction shortly thereafter when sold in the PCGS-MS67 holder. Even though it remains pop 1/0 to this day - I do not regret selling the coin - I had bills to pay at the time and a very nice MS66 undergrade coin in my collection to fill the hole until the day I am able to slab another.
Oreville - thanks for the trip down memory lane.
