Milan vs Paris, a visual

Medals produced at the Milan mint during the Napoleonic era have a distinctive color, particularly when compared to
the same medal, struck from the same dies in Paris.

Well, French copper vs Italian I guess... image The chocolate brown of Paris strikes is an artificial patina that Paris wouldn't let Milan have. image

It was Luigi Manfredini. He was real active throughout the period and always did his work for the Milan mint.

I wondered what the patina was on my medals, artificial you say, it seemed so even and that explains it. I prefer it to the milan toning.

Seems like the bronze in Milan had a higher proportion of copper.
