This beautiful piece arrived from Germany today and so far appears as one of my favorites.
Opus 155: GRAND ADMIRAL ALFRED VON TIRPITZ Zum Beginn des ‘U’- Bootkrieges), 1915, Cast AE, 80.5mm. On the occasion of the beginning of the submarine warfare. Inscription on Reverse, “May God punish England, February 18th, 1915.”
Of this medal Hill says”…His medal of Admiral von Tirpitz, whether consciously or not, is artistically a lineal descendant of Joachim Deschler’s medal of Hieronymus Paumgartner a Nuremberg church warden of the sixteenth century which is itself on of the richest instances of unconscious humor in the whole world of art…”

I have never seen one offered anywhere to date so it must be one of the more difficult to locate. I'll keep my eyes open for the second one I see since I'll be grabbing the first one I come across...

fair enough
is that you end up being governed by inferiors. – Plato
The reverse seems a little weak in proportion and detail, which is unusual ( when I say weak, I mean in relation to the obverse) as his reverse subjects are usualy strong.
I thank you for introducing me to this artist in metal.

If it's not too much trouble,is it possible to have a link of Deschler's medal (of Hieronymous) ? I'd love to see this unconscious humour, compare it with this one and then reach the final verdict

I do think, though, that this is one of Goetz's finest portraits. The reverse, on the other hand, seems a bit banal for such a distinguished individual.
