US Mint Current Medals

LAWMAN

I was fooling around on the US Mint website and I came across pages and pages of medals. There's one for every single presidential term, in 3 " and smaller; there's all kinds of others. It seems like they are getting a little medal-happy over there in their zeal to make big bucks off collectors. Does anybody really go in for these things? Are there limits to how many they make? Is there any future in them other than for somebody who really likes medals? I notice that they also sell cute, little cases with velvet linings for the various sizes.

Somebody please enlighten me.

The US Mint has been selling medals to the public since well into the 19th century.

Bubblehead

I wish they would make one with a submarine! Even a lil yellow one!
