Interesting ad in the paper

I live in St. Louis. For those of you that know about the Missouri Quarter controversy, there was a large display ad in the Post-Dispatch yesterday for Silver Proofs with the artists's original design. These weren't from the mint, but I think it was the "National Collectors's Mint," whatever that is.

Thing is, I wouldn't think that these can actually be considered money since they don't come from the mint?

I doubt they will ever be worth much, but I don't know. I just thought it was interesting.

They aren't real money. But the first campaign the artist undertook was to make up about 250,000 stickers and put them on the back of quarters in order to show people what it should have been. I also have 2 of those quarters. image

Thanks for the post. This is a great piece for my "interesting items" collection. I just ordered one thru their web site. It should go nicely with the earlier Thomas Cremona Washington Quarter pattern by the Patrick Mint and the Jefferson Nickel pattern by the Full Step Nickel Club.
    All glory is fleeting.

P.S. Those "quarters" aren't silver, they're silver plated.

Much to do about nothing in my book.
