Auction mania!

Man, the catalogs just keep coming in... Mile High, Sportscardsplus, Superior.. MastroNets soon to follow too..

I guess it's good for us collectors that they all come out at the same time... lessens the coverage for those big spenders, thus leaving some hidden gems for us common folk!

I haven't bought anything major in the past half year since I've been saving up for a down payment (thankfully the house we're about to close on was spared in the recent fire devastation here in Southern California), but looking at the recent catalogs has me drooling again!

I saw in Brian's auction that the 1959 Topps Ernie Banks Thrills PSA 10 card (only 1) is back up for sale. I just can't see how it got a 10 with the centering not dead on.

Anyways, what I wish I could get instead of putting down this downpayment!!! *sigh

    I also noticed the mass influx of auction catalogs. I received two separate mailings from Mile High about 5 days apart. I also received my Kit Young's 2003 Holiday Sale catalog - I guess I'm still on their list from an auction that I won for a PSA graded card several years ago!image I got my Superior catalog and DVD today. I'll have to sit down and watch the DVD this evening. I'm hoping for another great performance from Chris Porter - his rendition of Mrs. Robinson on the last one was classic. image

    For vintage collectors there is Lipset and Sloate's auctions as well. So many lots to wish for. Hopefully, I will be able to slip under the radar and win a couple.

    Is there an online version of the Lipset auction? If so, where? If not, how can I get one? (Not that I need to be getting more catalogs of cards I can't own...)

    I love coming home from a hard day at the office and having a brand new auciton catalog waiting for me.....one of lifes little pleasures.

    Pretty Hot actually........a tall blond.

    I have to be careful though...she told me she would dump me for a guy who collects Ben Franklns and likes to spell people's usernames incorrectly.
