SUBMISSION QUESTION ABOUT CERTIFIED AUTO CARDS

Do certified autographed cards like the one in the image below still have to be sent to PSA/DNA under the Autographed Card Grading and Authentication level ($20.00 per card)? I have about 10 of these i would like to get graded but im not sure what service level i need to submit them at. Could these be submitted under the Modern ($8.00 per card) service level sence there already Certified authentic by the Topps Card Co.?

  • Paul,

I'm pretty sure that it's modern.

  • if theyre certified from card companies, and issued in packs or as redemptions, they can be submitted as regular cards.

goodriddance is right - for certified cards issued after a certain date (without looking it up, I think it's either 1997 or 1998). Before that time, there were a few "certified" autographed cards produced that were not the player's signature. Isaiah (J.R.) Rider and Errict Rhett come to mind as two people who had family members sign the stacks of cards they were sent.
If you have any Pro Line, Classic, Signature Rookies, or early Upper Deck or Donruss autographed cards (or anything else issued before the cutoff date), you will need to get the autograph authenticated before the card can be slabbed.

  • sweet card superpunk. did you pull it yourself?
  • Nick is correct - 1998 is the cut-off - anything issued before that has to go through PSA/DNA

  • 1998 is the cut off point, any card before that has to be sent to PSA/DNA
