One note:

I had a snipe set up days ago with no bidders only to find Trozau bidding on the coin on the last day. I thought about canceling my bid but instead I forewarned him a few hours before the auction's end that a snipe was lying in wait to at least give him a chance. But he never came back and put up a fight.

I can't say that this is one of my favorite dealers with most of the crap he spams ebay with...I have to query out all his restrikes from the real stuff by entering >$19.00... I kinda wish ebay had an area for restrikes alone so we wouldn't have to deal with them unless we were specifically looking for them...just my two cents for what it's worth.

Good point about the restrikes. Unfortunately I end up teaching the dealers about the significance of edge markings on French medals! Most of them aren't collectors themselves (IMHO) and therefore don't question the differences when a restrike passes through their hands. Not true of genuine pros, but there's lots more people who are simply moving product.
