Research for Player Sets

I was thinking of doing a Mel Harder Player Set. He played in the 20's, 30's, 40's and the coached up to the 50's and 60's.
What do you use as a way to check out what cards have been issued for a player so that you can request a set be put on PSA?
If upon approval by PSA of your set and you find another card that you didn't know about, will PSA enter the new card?

Beckett puts out an alphabetical check list book. It looks like Harder has about 25 or so cards for a master set and 15-17 cards from his playing days. I don't know if PSA grades all of them or not. They will add cards to the set. I just advised them of a card missing from the Boog Powell player set. They replied that it would be added. Hope this helps.

That was a fast response! Is there an online source that you used? I'm looking for any cards of Johnny Ezersky who played in the NBA from 1946 to 1950 for Tri-City, Providence, Baltimore, and the Boston Celtics.
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
I just put the list together off the top of my head. Those were all the cards I could think of. I hope I didn't forget any - my memory is not quite what it used to be!
Seriously, I use Beckett's website. They have a pretty complete database of cards, even ones not listed in their annual book.
I'm not too familiar with Basketball, especially vintage. I did a search but could not come up with anything using "Ezersky". Are you sure the spelling is correct? I even checked the 1948 Bowman set on the set registry - but there is no card listed.
Sorry I couldn't help on this one.

p.s. I could not find any cards for Ezersky either.
<< <i>Guys, PSA does not care about all of the cards that were produced of a player, only about the cards they have graded of that player. For a master set listing, just go to the pop report and do a player seach. You'll miss some of the multi-player cards, but BJ will fill those in for you.... >>
Joe,
That's a good point that I forgot to mention. If a card has not yet been graded by PSA, it can not be included in the set. These lists are still valuable in that they allow you to identify potential cards to add to the set as you get them graded. I think this is the most exciting aspect of collecting a player set - requesting PSA to add a card to a set because you have recently graded or purchased an example of the only card that has ever been graded.
