Are the updates being frozen for awards calculations? If so how long till the next update takes place? Any body heard on this?

Sets that are sent in for validation after the deadline will be validated beginning Wednesday, November 5th in date order. This will allow our judges ample time to review sets for the awards. Thanks in advance for your patience.

My old computer used to crash when loading pictures.Maybe it's your computer?
I take all my pictures from the old computer, send them to the new one, open up an explorer window with the set in it,hit edit all cards in the set, load a bunch at a time and no problem.
I wonder why this is happening?
If it's something before this past Sunday then maybe it's on PSA's end and not ours. That was the last time I loaded any pictures up.They just have not shown up in the last update.

<< <i>Is there a limit to the amount of memory you can use on your set? Pictures, descriptions, etc. I just got to card 325 on my 660 set with all pictures listed. When I was adding description information, it froze me out. Just wondering if there was a set limit.

Dale,
First, thank you for taking the time and effort to post scans of your cards. I still wish more people would do this with their sets. I post scans (front and back) of every card that I list on the registry.
To answer your question, there is no limit. I have somewhere around 2000+ scans of PSA graded cards that I have uploaded to the Set Registry. 710 of these are under my 1970 Topps Baseball Set.
As long as each one of your scans comes in at under 100KB, there is no limit to the amount you can store on the site.
Another benefit is that you can post scans on the message boards of cool cards that are in your set without having to use a 3rd party host site.
Here's an example of one of my favorites from my registered sets:

<< <i>JEB, how do you do both front and back?

It's all done with mirrors!
Seriously, I use software that allows stitching of scans. This software is mainly used to create panoramic views by "stitching" several photographs together to create one large image. Here is an example of a photograph that I've done using this software (I chose a sports related one - PNC Park in Pittsburgh ).
Search for and download a program that has the stitch function. I use a 9-10 year old program that is very simple - it actually came with the first scanner I ever purchased in 1993. Most of the newer programs, although more user friendly, are actually more complicated. These programs are available for free download, you just need to find them. I did a quick search and found these four. I've never used any of them, but give it a shot or search other sites for other options.
Hope that helps.

I consider myself to be fairly intelligent - at least smart enough to not live in Indiana!
Just kidding! I'm sure Indiana is lovely. It's actually one of the few states that I have never been in.

Great job on your 1981 Fleer Set. Its great that you have scans for all card and descriptions! I wish everyone was as dedicated to their registry sets as you are to yours. As to posting front and back of cards Jeb has given some good advice. I don't have a program that has a stitch function so I use the paint program on my computer to combine scans. The method I use is explained here. If you don't have program with a stitch function, give this method a try. You will then have to experiment with the image size to make sure it is under the 100k limit. If you are going to rescan all of your cards I would also recommend that you scan the cards with the scanner lid up so that you have a black background and get a crisper image of the cards.
I really wish more people would put the effort in to post large, clear images of their cards on the registry. What a great resouce the registry could be if everyone posted scans! I would love to see PSA try to promote more the posting of scans on the registry. They should highlite sets that have scans posted of most of the cards, and give awards to those who put the effort in to post nice scans.
Jeb,
Thank You for all the effort you put in to posting great scans to the registry. I always love looking at the new Stargells and Carews that you post whenever you update you sets. You should be elected to the registry hall of fame for all the great scans you have posted.
I have no idea why the cards are showing up in one place and not another, but it can't be good. That set is nowhere near registry award levels (or even front page status), but I would imagine that others might have the same problem, possibly without realizing it.

Alfie,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy to see that someone enjoys the fruits of my labor.
I really enjoy participating in the Set Registry. Although I may never own the largest, or highest graded collection, I believe that I have some of the most collector-friendly and informative collections because everyone can see what a card actually looks like instead of just seeing a number (i.e. PSA 7, PSA 8, etc.). From day one I have done this with all of my sets. I can't imagine not having a scan available for every card. It's also nice to have these scans available when you are at work, on vacation, or otherwise away from the actual cards. I post scans regulary on this message board from my office or while I'm on the road just by linking the scan from the registry.
Oh yeah, it's also nice to show off some rare or low-pop cards every once in a while.
It really doesn't take much effort to add a scan of every card if you keep up with it. On average, I receive anywhere from 0-10 PSA graded cards each week. I scan these cards the same day that I receive them and enter them into my sets - it takes no more than 15-20 minutes for 8 cards or so.
Thanks again for looking.
