Hey wondercoin read this

Why don't you start that top pop ike at a $1.00 and let it ride. I don't think you will ever sell that one for $5,000+. I noticed you lowered the price each time you relisted.

Gcoin - If you pull up my completed ebay auctions for the past few weeks, you will see that the vast majority of them start at under $10 with no reserve (including a PCGS-MS69 state quarter I just sold). But, that is not the arrangement I have on this particular coin. And, the deadline to consign to FUN is about 3 weeks away - where this coin may end up anyway if it does not sell on ebay first. And, note that the last couple PCGS-MS69 silver Ikes (72s, 74s) sold have commanded well in excess of my opening bid - the last being the 74(s) which commanded nearly $10,000 in the last Heritage sale.

So, I guess the bottom line is if it sells it sells and if it doesn't I'll be about $10 poorer before we see what happens at major auction, where my chances of the coin exceeeding my ebay BIN are roughly just as strong as the chances it does not IMHO.

But, I do appreciate your comment, as the $1 opening bid wouldn't be a bad way to go either. image

I just hope wondercoin sells that ike. I thank you for your input redcents. I thought I might get some attention with the 2000 type 2 by starting it at a $1.00.
  • you got my attention image
  • Why no photo in the auction?
  • The market (or at least Ron) has spoken: $128.58 final price (on the MS67RD 2000 Wide AM that is) image

I've got about a dozen of the "wide AM" cents that came in the same roll. I guess I need to send them in and put them on Ebay.

Of course, the price will continue to come down. gcoin started the auction originally with a $350 opening bid.
