What Happened?

Too bad this was ended early. Any ideas on what this would have gone for? Its the only 9.

    JR - Probably 1 of 2 scenerios.
    1) He got a private offer that he thought would be higher then the final bid.
    2) He pulled it cause the bids weren't that high at that point and he was in fear of it going too low!

Either way, I think it stinks! (If the above is correct) Let the auctions run their course. If you have a set amount you need, use the reserve, or set the minimum bid at that price point, or use the Buy It Now Feature. I hate wasting my time bidding on a lot only to find that it was taken off eBay. To avoid this confusion w/ my auctions ...I let them run for the entire duration to give everyone a fair chance to compete....jay
  • I agree it stinks. There are a few collectors out there that have already paid big bucks for high grade 68-69's. I think he would have done very well on this.
  • Recently, on ebay, the only graded PSA 9 of 1969 OPC Checklist #31, went for $660 USD. The buyer than
sold his PSA 8 for about $326 I believe.....that gives you an idea how much (and rare) these checklists
    can be....
The first person in the PSA universe to complete the 1969 OPC
Hockey set! Always looking to buy, trade or upgrade 1966 Topps to 1969 OPC.

I noticed that card the other day, but didn't see that it had ended. There's almost no way this card wouldn't have brought home a huge amount, so I'm guessing that one of the big two collectors of this set made an offer that couldn't be refused. We'll see if it shows up in one of their sets within the next couple of weeks.

  • If he didnt sell that checklist to Joe or Jamie he certainly wouldnt get full value for it.

Congrats on finally landing the PSA 9 Rollins. I was glad to see you win it , it looks like it was 3rd time lucky.

Hey, thanks, Randy. I was a little disappointed when that seller didn't get back with me after I e-mailed him about selling mgalt's stuff, but I had a feeling it would show up on eBay. Once it did, I knew the third time would be the charm. I even raised my snipe bid from $453.53 to like $475 this morning, just in case, but I think my original bid would've held up. Anyway, I don't think I'd spend that much on run-of-the mill PSA 9 commons, but the Rollins is only a pop 2 or 3 in PSA 8, and it's one of my favorite cards in the set.
