The Grading Process

David,
Coins are submitted for grading in flips, but how are the coins presented to the graders for grading. It doesn't seem efficient to have the graders remove the coins from the flip, and then have put them back in the flip; of course I am assuming the coins are not graded in the flip. ... So as far as this portion of the grading process, what actually happens?
Thanks,
Greg

Coins stay in flips at PCGS as they make their way thru the proces. They are only removed for grading and sealing. The flips do protect the coin and are a necessity, though I agree with you that they arse somewhat cumbersome.
