I see nothing wrong with the bidding. Most of the auctions have a decent minimum and this bidder is not even the 2nd highest bidder. Probably someone who just likes dealing with Greg.

did you guys ever stop to think that just maybe someone with a low feedbak IS NOT either a shill bidder or a dishonest dealer. Please! Feedback is irrelevant at a certain point. We all started at 0 also. Depending on the time,my bidding pattern could look equally suspicious. don't feel threatened by what looks to be a new player in high end graded stuff with some money.
If you look at his feedback, he has won many auctions from Kurtzcardz. There is not connection between them and Legacy, is there? Legacy also gave him feedback for a 1959 Topps #317 PSA 9. If you see Legacy auctioning that card again, I'd be concerned.
In any case..the guy paid some crazy dollars for 1965s...including $400.00 for a Cap Peterson PSA 9. My guess is that the it is a 3rd or 4th ebay username of someone.
He did buy a card for Lloyd...so maybe he could shed some light on the fellow.
i'm not so sure it's suspicious. i know when i first registered w/ebay, my first 10-15 buys were through dslsports exclusively. this was b/c they had the cards i wanted at the prices i wanted and since my first transaction went so well, i figured i'd buy from them again. since i frequently got outbid at the last minute, i'd often bid on 5-6 of their auctions for the same card. granted these weren't quite as high $ as the auctions you posted, but on the surface, it may have looked like i was a shill bidder. now that i have nearly 200 feedback, the argument that i'm a shill bidder doesn't hold much merit as i've bought from many dealers. due to the great service i got from dsl, i still buy from them.
currently i have a buyer who has bid on nearly all my auctions. so far 3 people have emailed me accusing me of using this buyer as a shill. i don't know the buyer personally, but i suspect he bids on my auctions for the same reason i bid on dsl's...b/c the first time he bought from me, i gave him quality service. i was offended that other ebayers emailed me accusing me of using the buyer as a shill- i have perfect feedback and often many people w/0, 1, or otherwise low feedback bid on my auctions. after all, we all had 0, 1, or low feedback at one point.
I have purchased many cards from Greg both privately when he was with Superior and from Legacy on ebay, and I have never felt that I was being shill bid on any of the auctions. You want to see a shill bidder look at this ebay auction
I don't think he is a shill in that auction. Check out all the auctions he has bid on. Bids last 30 days Looks more like a shill for wantlist1938. And check out greatstuffs feedback!
The Legacy auctions, the bidder bmay, bid at the beginning of the auctions. On the MAys, he bid $2000, which was the starting bid, and never bid any more. He just found an item, and then he checked items for sale by seller, adn bid on a few more. He was always the first bidder, and the auctions all had minimums. That wouldn't make any sense for a shill bidder.
On teh qualityfofhorsing one, the bidder was a newbie. He thought he was in an auction, and everytime he bid, it told him he had been outbid, and had the place to bid again. I did that when I first started, also, not realizing that these are not normal auctions at all, but rather unsealed envelope bids. Highest bidder in a certain time frame wins. That it why snipeing is so important. If qualityfhorseracing had sniped, then the other guy wouldn't have bid multiple times.
I hadn't looked at greatstuffgoods feedback, just the numer. You are right. He is a troll. He bids on a lot of items like taht, though, so I don't know that he is a shiller, just perhaps intellectually challenged.
Dodgers,
I agree. I was making two seperate points. One is that he wasn't necessarily a shiller, and two, that sniping is the way to go. Snipong avoids the shiller, as well as the person who doesn't know what his top bid is.

Could be. We'll see.
Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!

Not quite a newbie. Even though he shows a 0 feedback score, he has 27 positives.
I agree 100%, that doesn't mean that shill bidding didn't occure.

Probably the only guys he can trust....he's afraid of the trolls like you
