Fake GU or fake autograph?

I am curious now and have a question for everyone.

Say you had been collecting a certin set of GU or autographs and one day found out some of the cards in this set were fake and could be proven fake.

Would you think all in the set were fake even though some couldn't be proven?

Would you contact the company about it or just shrug it off and say oh well?

Would you care that Beckett never did a story about it to warn collectors?

  • With my set its the 2001 Playoff Football Honor Roll Buybacks.

I can prove some are fake and Playoff is willing to settle for those but I still have a stack that can't be proven but I know are fake also.

These cards were marketed and sold as BuyBacks but what Playoff did was use old replacement stock for damaged cards that should have been destroyed.

Beckett did list these autograph versions at one time and called them "BuyBacks" until Playoff made them remove that from the magazine and online.

Makes no real difference, I think that them using backstocked cards gives you better conditioned cards than if they actually went out and bought them back.
