Just got the 1930 Max Mehl and 1939 Watye Raymond Price Guides -- a little comparison shopping!

So I bought these 2 prices guides off Ebay and I love them. It really is interesting to see how the hobby has changed and prices have skyrocketed.
Most interesting is that in the WR Price Guide, every coin from Quarters -- through dollars are sold as "Type" coins. You cannot select individual dates, merely type -- meaning you can order a Morgan and they will select the year. The last 7 pages are all advertisements for the WR albums. Another interesting fact is that WR also made coin cabinets, a simple one that held 10 or so of his boards which sold for $7.50 and a more advanced wooden one that held 500 coins and sold for $25.00. I've never seen either for sale anywhere. I've love to get one of them.
As for the Mex Mehl price guide, this is much more complete, listing prices for a large number of coins and currency. Also in the back of the guide are numismatic stories and articles which are still quite interesting reading, especially the one about the mints.
Okay so lets see some comparisons......
1877 IHC ....................... .05 -- .25 (1930) $2.50 -- $15.00 (1939)
1795 Flowing Hair $....... $1.50 -- $2.75 (1930) $7.50 (1939)
1793 Chain Cent ........... $1.50 -- $5.00 (1930) $10.00 - $15.00 (1939)
1876 CC Twenty Cent.... $15.00 (1930) Not listed in WR Guide
1909 S VDB.................... Not listed in MM Guide $3.00 (1939)
1873-1875 Proof Trade Dollars ... .75 each (1930)
If you have any request for coin prices let me know and I'll try to post them, but just realize that the WR guide is limited.

My ebay auctions
I have a '27 book and I think "What where my ancesters thinking"!!! Geez it's almost comical reading through these things.
cosmos- my book only lists Morgan Proofs and they are at the big money rate of $1.10 each.

Today it would look pretty silly to see bidding on a coin or selling a coin using fractions of a dollar.
Could you see paying today for an 1804 dollar at One Million Dollars and 24 cents...
collectors will be sifting through 70+ years from now and what they may think of our limited
price guides and info as such is our modern Redbook.
anyone want to venture a guess as to what the tricentenial quarter is going to look like?
