Raw 1923-D Peace $1---Care to guess the grade?

I'm thinking about submitting these two 1923-D Peace $1. Your input on the possible grade and if it's worthwhile to even submit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is one series where I'm miserable at grading. Don't mind admitting it either. image I'd say the top coin is au/58, and the bottom piece is ms/62.

Of course, that's from the scan, and probably doesn't mean diddly. image

Let us know how they come back if you decide to send 'em in.

They both look to have quite a few marks/scratches,I wouldn't send them in if they were mine.Al

    AU55
    MS62

I'm no expert on Peace dollars. I find detecting early wear very tough, but I do think the top coin shows wear. I would not submit the first, and might the second.

I don't see wear on either one and would bet they would both go MS62/63. And I love the toned one. image

It's up to you as for spending the money for slabbing them.

    BigD5, grip, itsnotjustme, FrattLaw,

Thanks to each of you for the input. Neither coin is circulated so I may just submit and see what happens.
