Anyone ever hear of a "Superstar Socks" card set???

Someone just contacted me about a Maravich card from this "rare" set. I never heard of it. There is a company in Mass. that makes "Superstar Socks" but thought some of you may have heard of it. Maybe a regional promo? Says it 's from 1976.

In 1976, there was an issue called Superstar Socks. It is a set of 7; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Nate Archibald, Berry, Doug Collins, Spencer Haywood, Bob Lanier and Pete Maravich. They were display headers for the socks. The cards are 5" X 6 3/4" and have bios and stats on the backs. My book shows the Marivich for $135.00 in 1995. Jabbar is high at $160.00 Collins is low $100.00 and the set is $800.00. I do not have a clue as to the current values. Basketball was much hotter in '95 than now. I have seen a few of thes cards, but not for several years.

I posted a picture of the 1976 Supersocks Pete on my site just now. Steve taft is selling it for $695 and it is from one of the rarest 10 sets of 1970s.

I have the jabbar and the haywood, i always wondered what set they were from
it seems like the stats in the back can be detached?
does anybody know?

I have them listed in both the Sanchez Basketball Price Guide and the 1995 SCD Catalog of Football, Basketball & Hockey. Beckett does not have them listed.
