don't like the scan and but based upon what I see, I believe it is dipped. I will not venture a grade and I would keep looking

Some of the lifelessnes could be because of the scan but, looking at his other auctions, I don't think the lustre is probably very good on that coin.

But, there almost has to be something going on with that coin or why would he be calling it a 61? It looks too mark free to be a 61 unless something is going on with it other than marks.

Even a scanner shouldn't kill a coin that bad.
Must a been dipped to death !

It looks dipped and in order to get a 61 was at one point abrasively cleaned. I'm sure it has many hairlines not seen in the scan.
