MGI Photosuite - Background Colors to Images

I've been using a "borrowed" platinum edition of MGI Photosuite from the dark ages. If anyone else is using this, how can I get background colours on my coin images. If you look closely at my icon coin you'll see rough edges and a sort of wavy effect (below coin esp.) To make everything clear I've been using the flood fill utility on a high tolerance level.....

You could be added to my long list of auction bloodsuckers Ebay, Paypal, Post Office. I pay you 20 cents a photo.... image

There has to be a way in MGI to do a confined circular selection so you don't get jagged edges.

20 cents a photo? If you pay that in pre 1900 UNC UK pennys you got a deal.image
