Since I prefer to collect 19th century coins and I have NEVER received one in my change, yet, no, I have not slabbed a coin from circulation.

  • No, never. But that is because I have never gotten anything worth maybe a few dollars in pocket change.

Only one. It was an 82 No FG JFK I put in an ANACS slab.

Yes, I have ... 1982 No-P Roosie plunked from change in that year ... graded last year at PCGS as AU58. I lived in Cincy at the time and I figure this coin was put into circulation by someone who received it in change at Cedar Point amusement park on Lake Erie at Sandusky, Ohio. Much of the mintage was released in Sandusky ...

    A couple of times.

The one most memorable was my 1995 DDO that I got from Burger King in 1995. Graded earlier this year as MS64RED by ANACS.

    Airplanenut,

It isn't a very valuable coin, but it is a type II reverse. The seperated A M in America was found only on the proof die.image It'll go in the album. Hey, $10 is $10, especially when you consider the percentage it represents. LOL

I was wondering why it was special... I had to take out a penny just to compare it... then I saw nothing wrong image

  • I thought it was worth more than $10. I only recognized it because I was just reading a web page about that proof reverse error and it had pictures. Of course the chances of these old eyes being able to spot something like that in pocket change are very slim. image

    I received a 1939-D Jefferson from a change machine. Sent it in--MS63!

Not sure exactly how uncommon but I bet I could get $300.00 for the '99. By the way I do have a '98 ty II too.

I slabbed my son's first wheat back penny that he found in change. I sent it to PCI, it graded Fine 12. They marked it as his first wheat back find on the slab.

In 1990 I was in a grocery store and the cashier had a roll of 1990-P Lincolns she let me buy at face. At the time it was just for my roll set that I was trying to keep current. Fast forward to 2001 when the modern craze was rolling. I went through the roll and sent a few in and they came back MS-68. Sold one of them for $250. With some of the money I took my wife to dinner and kept bragging that the meal only cost a penny.
