Why do I keep seeing this in auctions?

<Sales of all Third-Party Graded (i.e., "slabbed") products are FINAL.>

Why wouldn't a seller be willing to offer a refund on a graded coin PROVIDING it was from a reputable service?

The good thing about having multiple personalities is that there's always a designated driver.

Maybe because they're tired of bidders who seem to think that eBay is an approval service?

I understand that but the same sellers are willing to offer refunds on raw coins. What's the difference?

I rarely send PCGS/NGC/ANACS coins back. Infact, I've sent one back in the last three years (that I can remember). It was a 21-P in PCGS 65RD that David Lawrence had. I sent it back because it was an absolute dog "woff woff." I cant recall the last time I sent a slabbed coin back that was bought off e-bay. I can say this, though... if I see that the seller says, "no returnes," I NEVER bid. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I don't really see any difference. I think a return policy, if it exists, should be the same for raw or slabbed. But, I'd guess that their position is that the final word is the grading service, and that since the grade is on the label it must be correct. Of course anybody who's dealt with enough slabbed coins knows that isn't always true. Basically, it's passing the buck.

YUP!...Out of almost 60 I have running right now, only one person has emailed me regarding return policy. I HAVE NONE! When dealing with PCGS graded coins there's definately NO RETURNS. It doesn't state this in my auctions because, MOST won't blink an eye, they just want the coin in a PCGS slab. The label tells all!......image
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
