Those $30 National Wildlife Refuge silver metals

Are selling for $75 on ebay. I wonder if they'll keep increasing?

  • Holy Smokes! They're not making any more!?!?!? Gotta have one! Gotta have one! Hey, wait a minute....these are medals; not even coins that do not circulate...They have no chance of circulating....
  • $75 try $125 for the Salmon Medal. I see PCGS is now grading the Medals. How about that everyone is getting in on the action.image

These are all presales too. I don't think they will make the 30 day limit.

Has anyone received their Salmon Medal yet? Order status still shows expected to ship 9/15. At least they updated the order status for the Elk and the Duck to December.

  • According to my order checked today, it now says in stock and reserved. Maybe they will start shipping the Salmon this week.imageimage

I find it ironic that people pooh pooh these because they're "non-circulating medals", but find it perfectly ok to buy "coins" from the ASE and AGE programs, not to mention modern commems.

And don't even get me started on post- 1964 proof sets. image

I personally don't collect any of the above material outside of a few pieces to fill "type" holes in my albums, but think it's funny that people draw a line at "legal tender" such that Franklin mint items and wildlife medals fall on one side, and things like a 1995-W silver eagle fall on the other.

It would be pretty cool if the grey sheet made an exception and published a bid /ask even though they are not coins but medals.

By the way there is a history of medals trading for real money. Just look at how popular the Norse medals are.
