Pricing advice wanted - 1942 PR67 Washington, 1975 MS66FS Jefferson

If I might tap your reg-heads for some advice... I'm selling off some of my personal collection and wasn't able to find any recent sales prices for these two coins.

In addition to the grade they both are mighty perty, but if you have any pricing for white coins I'll take that too.

I certified this coin myself quite a while back without any real thought to condition, I just liked the color. But apparently I lucked into a pretty tough date in high grade FS?

If anybody has the current pops on these that'd be cool too... last I knew the Washington only had 1 graded higher, I dunno about the Jefferson.

Thanks!

Hi. I had a 1942 pr67 in my original registry set (once #1 all time finest and still #4 on the all time finest list) but I must admit your coin appears to be far superior to mine. It also appears you have lots of color mixed in with some frosting? Yikes. Prices for the series have really run up. Two years ago I would have said $350 to $400 but today that price range would be insulting you. I would try for a 50% premium or about $600 to $650 for the coin. If I were still collecting, that's what I would expect to PAY for a coin like that. And if it brought $800 in an auction I would not be surprised. cheers, alan mendelson

Nice coins ... the Washington is 126/4 and the Jeff is 16/1 ...

Anytime you have color its hard to guess, but $450 is a price I would expect on the quarter with that color.
  • Thanks all... maybe my best bet is to stick both of these coins on eBay and see what happens.

I'm still hoping for a nickel guy to weigh in on the desirability of that coin even if I do auction it though... I don't want to over/under-hype it.

P.S. Alan -- Can I quote you on your favorable comments on the quarter as a former #1 record holder? image
