Is This Franklin Cameo?

I have been trying to learn the difference between almost, CAM and DCAM. Does this coin just miss cameo?

Thanks, Charlie

    link fixed

Charlie, to do the link thing, click on the "http" tab, and past your entire link in the pop-up box. Hit return, and then you can type a text description to click on.

looks like the obverse is cameo but the reverse isn't strong enough to make it.
  • This looks like a (relatively)near miss. Especially the reverse, although that could just be from the way the picture was taken.

A lot of the lettering on the obverse and much of Franklin's bust looks a little weak, too, on second glance.

That's a boarderline cameo in my opinion.

However, keep in mind that images can play tricks on you. I've purchased some proofs that looked cameo and were not even close when I recieved them.

    Geoman,

How do you paste to the link box? When it pops up I can't get the paste to work, I just tried typing in the link, but must have had a typo or something.

I have a couple of proof Frankies like that one. Too much of Ben is brilliant to rate CAM on the obverse and the reverse does not even look close, I'm afraid.

Hit delete first to erase whats already there, then LEFT click on the blank space and select "paste" from the menu box.

    Hi John,

When I delete whats in the box, an hour glass shows up on my cursor and I can't open any menu boxes.

    Charile,

What I do is copy the link first by hitting the control C key,
then I reply to the message, and at the top is the http link, click on that,
then hit control V to paste the link in the box, making sure you delete anything in the box first.

It worked, control V did the trick.

    Thanks, Geoman
  • That Franklin does miss cameo. The reverse is not close. There are pretty frosty areas of the obverse but the forehead, cheek and lapel are not frosty enough. The lettering looks pretty good.
