I started my '09-'58 Lincoln cent set in 1971, and still need the '09 S VDB, "14-D (had one or two over the years, but sold them), and '31-S.

Indian cents. I started collecting them in 1972 and still do not have a 1877. Now I'm going for a complete MS collection, so I'll be slowed down once again.

    VF Barber quarter set......16+ years....

    Dave
Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
  • It has taken me 4 years to get about 30% complete with my Morgan collection. But that is because of a few things.
    (1) I only get MS63-MS66
    (2) They have to be 100% white
    (3) They have to be PCGS (occasionally I do some crossovers if I buy an NGC)
    (4) Money (this is not a cheap collection to build so I do it as a life long pursuit, okay, maybe 20 years)

I could speed things up a bit if I would lower my standards but I just can't do it (except for the super high key dates! I may never own them!).
Plus I really enjoy going to all the shows searching for that cherry Morgan I need, making sure it meets my quality control standards (which are very high).
I have gotten rid of Morgans I needed that had a little black spot on them. I am just picky (wife says anal).
  • Series 52...I've grown tired and weary awaiting. Time to move on to new series! What? I've not yet decided...image
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
  • ...and of course, Mint Luster is the most important factor when grading a Morgan. A Morgan with great eye appeal (in the white Morgan realm, not toned) is most often a Morgan that has strong Mint Luster qualities.
Hence, my nickname, that I have used for years in various forums and ways!

Standing Liberty Quarters. I don't expect to complete my set any time soon either.

Draped bust, small eagle half dollars. There are only 2 years, and two die pairs for each year.

4 coins total, I've been collecting them for 28 years now, and I have Zero of the four so far.

I started a Jeff. nickel (38-61) whitman folder in 1980 and have pulled each coin from circ. with the exception of the 1955-P (still searching) and 1950-P (purchased in 1981.)

But you've very nicely filled in all of the holes around them image.

Seated half dimes for more than 2 years and no key dates yet.

  • Definitely and only Lincolns.

It would be MUCH easier to list the series that I HAVE completed. Of the many things that I collect, I have finished my UNC Franklins, UNC Ikes & Proof Ikes. I am close to finishing my proof and circ. Franklins.
