Home PCGS Set Registry Forum

Hey Mercateers, I have in my entries for Red Friday!

Hello Mercateers!

Ok, I've got two new dimes for Red Friday, and maybe another nice one (42-S 67FB) tomorrow. It has been looking pretty anemic lately on the Merc registries. So what's up? Everyone saving for Christmas? Can't find anything? Broke? Computer down? Come on guys, we're supposed to be the most active guys on the boards! So go buy something and add it to you set! I need to see some RED tomorrow!!!

Regards,

Wayne

No Job, No Money, been Junk Yard Diving and Nothing is selling on Ebay. Outside of that every thing is like a Bowl of Cherries so about a hour ago I bought a Merc on Ebay. Crap now I'll starve for a week but the Merc is more important. image

Oh Yea...The one I bought is just a Sideway move again. The 43P does have color now. image I'll save it for a Friday entry. Maybe by then PCGS will come up with the Sideway move Icon for a entry. image

You seem to be the most active from the Merc group,And I cannot find anything I need.I even went as low as bidding on an ugly 18-D heritage has up,and the 20,which looks a little better.
The early date Mercs are just not to be found(in FB) and worth the price.Do I see headlights coming?image
Congrats on the 42-S 67,I was looking for that coin for you, where did you find it?.Al

    Hi Al,

Don't bid on or buy ugly Mercs, you know that! I'm looking for you, and will help when I can.

You don't have to worry about my headlights, for a little while at least. I have decided to pause and take stock, and make some needed upgrades. They will not be enough to get anywhere near you. I just want to stay in the top ten for now.

On the 42-S 67FB, it is funny. I went by to see J.B Stevens today and mentioned that I had the hots for a 42-S in 67FB. He calls me like 4 hours later and has found one for me, sent me photos, and it is very reasonably priced! I have been searching high and low for over 4 months for one with no luck, and Jason finds it in 4 hours!

It is nice to have help from your fellow Mercateers!

    Wayne

    Marc,

I was aware of you and the writing on the wall a few months ago. I knew you were up and coming and were going to pass me, it was just a matter of time! Just be gentle, and be sure to give me advanced warning passing signals! It is customary thing to do among among us gentleman Mercateers!

  • Okay
both Wayne and Marc need to slow down a little so the rest of us
can save some money and buy a few mercs too. I can feel the heat
    from those headlights,

    Yeah right Tim,

Like heat could possibly travel through the vaccuum and lightyears between us! You'd have to have a 500 power telescope just to see the lights of the headlights from us newbies! I've never even held a 68FB dime in my hand! I think you might be sandbagging just a little! imageimageimageimageimage

  • Wayne,
maybe one of these days I can find the rt 16-d and use
it as a shield from those headlights, at least then I would be 100%
the never ending quest, or so it seems.

    Hi Tim,

I hope you find the right 16-D also. Actually, I'm hoping I find it for you so you will owe me one and pay me a finder's fee!

Who needs a sheild against a 5 watt light bulb? If you are worried about me, you need to see a shrink!

Now Walt, he might have a reason to be nervous! I'm talking about that other venue across the street, that Lexington guy also!

I think Marc is going to hit the brights this fridayimage,I hope to see some checker board action,we all have been pretty stagnent(sp) latley.
    Side note
Has anyone noticed, all the big names, including dealers, dont seem to have, or no quality mercs, .Specialy the early ones in MS 64/65,FB
  • Al,
you said the rt thing, I think that may be why the dang things
are so expensive if it is really a nice coin, they are few and far between

Tim, it'll take awhile for some of us to get closer to you - so not to worry those headlights are on stand-by for now image besides you've got some really tough to reach dates and grades. I'll be happy if I stay in top 10 period.

Al, your right - very little good quality examples to be had altogether.
I noticed lately (last 6-12 months) most of the merc's from the B&M & Heritage sales seem to be going to collectors - sooo that may explain some type of merc shortgage......
