I have started to collect this set a bit as I am finding it incredibly difficult to find the last 20 or so 53 Bowman Color cards that I need in 8 or better and when I searched the forum for information on this set I did not find much other than the cost issue so I was wondering if anyone can suggest people who have the cards, printing information, double or single prints, etc.
Thanks
Chris

Collector of baseball PSA sets from the 1970's & hockey rookie cards; big New York Rangers fan (particularly now that they are sleeping with the enemy with Holik and Kaspiritus). Also starting to collect 53 Bowman Color as I think they are the most beautiful cards I have seen.

Chris,
I also am trying to collect this set and am finding it to be one of the toughest 50's set to complete. The population report pretty much lays out the tougher cards in the set. I seem to remember and article I read somewhere about the issue not being very popular with the kids due to the B&W format. I will try and find the article and post it here for you.

As far as I can find there were no short or double printed cards. The B&W's were produced after the color set because of the high cost associated with the color pics. The cards were cut on a guillotine shear causing jagged rough edges and corners. Anything else I can find I will pass along. Good luck.
