Attn: eBay Sellers (POLL - Part 2)

Back on 9/23/03 I posted a POLL link to see what eBay sellers thought was the best day of the week to end auctions on to get the highest prices. The vast (relative to the votes for the other days of the week) majority voted for Sunday.

I now ask what time of the day ON SUNDAY is best to end the auctions to get the most bids/highest closing prices.

Thanks in advance for your input image

It looks to me that you have only the buyers answering your poll.

Sunday evening is the worst time to end an auction.

I dont know why they picked Sundays, people go to church, have family gatherings, and go to bed early ,most have to work Mondays.Al
  • My gut feeling, Al, is that many people are to wrapped up in their weekend activities to closely watch auctions ending on Friday or Saturday nights and too busy with work to watch too closely during the weekdays. That leaves other nights where the getting up early for work the next day argument comes into play again for weekday evening closes.

I personally beleive Sunday nights are best also with Saturday morning/early evening 2nd & 3rd. image

Good question. My vote fell in with the majority, so far.

I makes it hard when a PT seller ends their auction later then 8pm. That's 11pm ET and lots of us are in bed or going to bed.

Perhaps eBay would adjust the auction end times to allow for the different time zones, the way voting is done, each time zone has separate end times. image

It's all magic and superstition, isn't it?

My belief is that Monday evening works best. They had time to cruise on the weekends. They spot an item they like. They can go through their weekend routines and the Sunday night drudgery undistracted. The auctionsthey spotted gives them something to think about Monday at work, and gives them something to look forward to deal with Monday night.

I'm sure that's all hogwash, but that's my make of things.
