His/thier ID is ryandavidcoins. Bunch of Estate stuff and usually I Steer clear of raw or estate auctions because mainly they are BS. This time they seem to have a decent coin though.

Any comments about purchases you have made ?

Thanks in advance.

So many of his indians look whizzed that I don't even want to look at his stuff. I've never bought from him.

    Hi Ken,

I've looked at, and pondered a couple of his Mercs, but could never bring myself to pull the trigger. Good luck!

I bought a CH/BU 1916 cent from them a while back. Turned out to be AU55/XF45 at best. I returned it and got a refund + about half the shipping charges in about three weeks. After i bought this they got a coupla negs on grading. Looking at thier Lincolns I'd say they generally over grade. Great at taking pics though.

I bought 1 from him a while back. Only 1 picture and not real good at so took a chance. Picture looked better than coin, not real sure I received the same coin as in the pic. Obverse looks different as that is the only pic he had. Reverse was poor when I got the coin, scratched and beat up.

To buy from him again the pic would need to be better and more than 1.

  • I didn't look at all of the listings, but the ones I did look at looked overgraded, at least based on the lousy pictures.

$4.00 S/H for a single coin!! What's that all about? I charge $3.00 for slabs (up to three in a package - double bubble wrapped). Looks to me like he's trying to pad his profit margin with his S/H charges. Sends up a red flag for me.

Thanks Guys.... moving on and forgetting about the coin seems correct to me after your comments. I do not like the hassel of buying and returning coins. If some positive comments would have been made a chance would have been taken.

Ryandavidcoins seems to be another reincarnation of the "one sentence seller" previously known as CTNumisaut, EBC800, Fampak, and a few others. He still writes retaliatory negatives which call his customers "U lyin' piece of garbage" and gives everyone else the same positive comment. At least he now includes a picture in his auctions, which he claims is darker and uglier than the coin in person.

The worst of the worst in my opinion. He recently offered a raw DMPL Morgan. When I emailed him to point out that NONE had been slabbed by either PCGS or NGC for that year (population zero!!!) he called me a liar. I sent him the population report and I got some rambling nonsense back that I didn't know what I was doing.

Consistent overgrades, sells junk and gives eBay a bad name.

I haven't heard those names in a while. If it is him (Fred Serafino), definitely on top of the sleaze list. However, after reviewing the feedbacks he's left, I don't think it's Fred. The comments are derogatory enough for him.

BTW, ccex, what name do you use on RCC?

I won two auctions from him several weeks ago that went with no problem. They were both NGC slabbed two-cent pieces. After looking at several of his raw coins I don't think I would ever bid on one. They all appear to be overgraded and/or problem coins.

Speaking of that fampak guy.... Drives me crazy. Left me a retaliatory negative right when I started on ebay two years ago.... My only one and I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, they have some interesting pieces that show up on my searches, but every time I consider bidding, either only one side of the coin shows, (the obverse) or the coin is overgraded and the bidding is already up to more than the coin is worth.
so have not done business with them and based on folks' comments, probably will not.
